Tuesday & Thursday evenings · all paces

Training

Two coached sessions a week, and a Sunday run when there is an appetite for miles. All paces, and a group that waits at the top of the hill.

This page is still being filled in.

The weekly sessions below are correct and run every week. A fuller season training schedule — the block of work leading into each target race — is being put together and will appear here once the coaches have set it.

Everything starts from Elm Road Sports Field, Elm Road, March, Cambridgeshire PE15 0BH. Your first session is free and nobody will chase you afterwards.

Tuesday — speedwork

Two groups away at 6:00pm and 6:30pm. Intervals and tempo work on the field and the lanes, led by our coaches.

Speedwork sounds intimidating and is not. The sessions are built so that everyone works equally hard for the same length of time, which means the fast and the not-so-fast finish together.

Thursday — club run

Warm-up at 6:15pm, then groups set off at staggered intervals so every pace has company. A different route most weeks.

Thursday 22 October

Route not set yet

It usually goes up a day or two before. Turn up at 6:15pm either way — there is always a run.

If you are able to lead the 5 mile route one week, please add your name to the list on the notice board at the club.

Sunday — long run

A small group meets at 8:30am when there is an appetite for miles. It is not every week — watch the club Facebook group, where it gets arranged.

Juniors

Juniors train separately with their own coaches, from age 6 upwards. Athletes from 12 may run at adult sessions with a parent, from 14 with a nominated adult, and from 16 independently under a qualified coach or Leader in Running Fitness.

If your child is under 16 and would like to try an adult session, speak to a coach or a committee member beforehand. More about the junior section →

Coming along

Turn up ten minutes early, wear whatever you run in, and say you are new — somebody will take you under their wing. You do not need to join first, and you do not need to be fast. Join when you are ready, or ask us anything at membership@marchac.co.uk.
